Home Care is a Preventive Maintenance program for your appliances and electronic gadgets. Our expert technicians visit your home and do a thorough check of all the parts of your appliances and devices to identify any possible wear & tear, do a complete clean up to remove accumulated dust & foreign particles and advise you on any parts replacements if required. This will prolong the life of your product and get the best out of your product.

1. What are the benefits of Preventive Maintenance? Will Preventive Maintenance increase life of products?

  1. By implementing a Preventive Maintenance program your household gadgets will work with full efficiency, ensuring lesser breakdowns & inconvenience.
  2. Problems are recognized earlier with a Preventive Maintenance program which can reduce downtime, breakdowns and expensive repairs. This opportunity can be used to order for parts in advance to reduce unexpected failures.
  3. Reduces the chances of emergency repairs. If a gadget goes down it may take a few days for it to get repaired – this can be avoided with Preventive Maintenance program as you will identify the wear and tear of parts. You can replace them before it lets you into an emergency situation.
  4. Saves money on electricity. When machines run at their highest efficiency they will use the least amount of electricity, which means you save money.

2. How do I set up an appointment online?

  1. You may call us on 800DGHELP (800344357) or you can schedule the appointment online. You will receive the link to schedule the appointment via email within 24hrs of placing the order.

3. My device(s) is under extended warranty which I purchased from SharafDG. How is the HomeCare plan be valid within the extended warranty period?

  1. HomeCare package is independent of Extended Warranty or DG Shield. There is no link to any of the other products and services. HomeCare service is valid for 12 months from date of purchase and covers gadgets which the customer registers.

4. Will the service cover all brands or only brands where SharafDG is an authorized service provider?

The service will cover all brands, as long as the brand has an authorized service centre in UAE

5. When do we pitch this product? At the start, mid or end of a normal product sale or whether it should be sold independently?

The SE can decide when to pitch for this product. Ideally, it should be the last item when the customer purchases the product. HomeCare is an independent program and not related to DG Shield or EW. It can be sold to a customer irrespective of whether he is buying products from Sharaf DG or not.

6. How does the plan and the fee work ?

The annual charge of AED 499 is for the Home Care package which includes two preventive maintenance visits for up to 5 products. Additional products can be covered at a cost of AED 99 each. This cost covers the home visit, a 10-15 point inspection program which can detect any faults and a thorough cleaning / tuning of the device. This doesn’t include the cost of any repairs, but if required repairs can be carried out at a cost – and we will provide a standby unit* at AED 100 per device for a maximum of 30 days (applicable if the repair takes beyond 2 days). In comparison a normal charge for a breakdown visit is AED 200.

*This may or may not be the same brand and same model in case of appliances. In case of Telecom, a mobile phone with the same operating system will be given.

7. How much will be the charges for third visit?

Third visit is not part of the plan. Any extra visit will be AED 149/ Visit.

8. If I sell the items covered under HomeCare, is it transferable to the new owner?

No, HomeCare is a preventive maintenance service purchased by you for gadgets you own and installed in their home/office. HomeCare services are location specific and covers gadgets installed only in one specified  location.

9. Can I club my plan with my friends or relatives?

No. HomeCare services are purchased by a single customer covers gadgets installed in only one location.

Terms and conditions

The Home Care program provides preventive maintenance service of electronic appliances and gadgets at home, and helps you to maintain your devices in perfect working condition. This services under this program includes home visit, labour and transportation costs only, and does not include the cost of any spare parts if required.

The Home Care Program is not a warranty or damage protection program and is not a replacement for the manufacturer’s warranty or any other extended warranty or product protection program.

Under the Home Care program all preventive maintenance activities will be performed at customer’s premises (as stated in your contract) based on requests made through online booking or our toll-free number 800 344357 (800-DGHELP).

Program Coverage Policy:

  • The program starts from the contract purchase date and ends after the completion of one calendar year from the purchase date.
  • This program is valid in UAE only
  • Operational Hours: 8am to 10pm, 365 days/year
  • The plan covers two home visits during the contract period, and a minimum of 5 products (plans for additional products can be purchased for AED 99 per product)
  • All labour and transportation costs in relation to maintenance and care are covered in this program

Exclusion of the program:

  • Spare parts costs consumed during repair or during preventive maintenance are not covered within this program
  • Damages or costs arising from loss of any information or data that was stored on a product which was being repaired. (We recommend that you back up any data stored on any devices / media including but not limited to Hard Disk drives, CDs, DVDs, and memory cards before our team starts the preventive maintenance work)
  • Products where the IMEI/serial/model number of the set has been tampered with or removed will not be covered under this program
  • Any loss or damage to a person or property, direct, consequential or incidental damages arising from the use of or inability to use the appliance
  • Accessories are not covered under this program (including but not limited to headphones, portable hard drives, smart watches, cables).

If any unit is collected for repair;

  • An estimate shall be shared for all expenses related to repair and spare parts and payment shall need to be made in full prior to commencement of any repair work.
  • Temporary replacement devices will be provided to a customer if the repair takes more than 3 days
  • The temporary replacement product could be of different brand, size and value from the original product and should be returned immediately in the same condition when the original product is returned to the customer after repair
  • Should necessary spare parts for repair be subject to import restrictions of a country resulting in delay in repairs, there will be no liability on Sharaf DG arising out of such delay.
