IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a form of lightning. The flashlights focus on the hair root. This light energy is absorbed by the body-like substance melanin (pigment) and then converted into heat. This heat permanently turns off the hair follicles or puts them in a long rest period. The hair falls out naturally and prevents the hair from growing back. 

IPL Homelight has been investigated by BaByliss for 20 years in collaboration with certified laboratories and dermatologists. Through a clinical trial, all products are tested. The IPL Homelight of BaByliss features a filter that stops 100% harmful UV radiation. The contact sensor ensures that the product only flashes if there is actual contact with the skin. 

IPL Homelight is suitable for men and women (18+). It is not suitable for the dark skin (phototype VI) or for hair with little pigment, such as gray, blonde and red hair. For added safety, the latest BaByliss IPL Homelight is G960E IPL Homelight Sensor, featuring a unique skin color sensor. This special safety mechanism checks the skin color before the treatment starts. This type of BaByliss IPL Homelight only delivers a flash of light when the skin color is suitable for this (skin types I to V).

For effective treatment, make sure your skin is clean and shaved. Do not epilate between sessions, this distorts the hair removal process. When the hair is ejected, no more melanin is present. If no melanin is present, there can also be no treatment. Therefore, we recommend cutting off the unwanted hairs between treatments.

If you are using IPL, the skin should not be exposed to sunlight or too much direct contact with the sun. Avoid the sun during, and the first week after, the treatment. Pigment responds to the flashlights of the IPL Homelight. Because the sun is not present in the Netherlands in winter, you are completely safe. When planning your treatment, take into account a sunshine event.
