EOS-1D X Mark II

Resolution, sensitivity and latitude

At the heart of EOS-1D X Mark II is a Canon developed CMOS sensor that marks the next generation of professional image quality in the EOS line-up. With enhanced light collecting performance and the ability to convert this light into digital signal, this sensor delivers a high-sensitivity performance reducing noise in both high and low ISO speeds, along with high latitude to pull details in dark areas.

Photography so sharp it’s dangerous

An expanded focus area with 61 individually selectable AF points, including 41 cross-type and 5 dual cross-type AF points, ensures enhanced flexibility in framing your subjects. Even at f/8, all 61 points are at your disposal including 21 cross type sensors. Combined with the advance AI Servo AF III+ and improved EOS Intelligent Tracking and Recognition system, the EOS-1D X Mark II delivers exceptionally sharp and precise autofocus.

High ISO Sensitivity

Speed is of the essence in any professional situation, and greater ISO flexibility is particularly useful when shooting in low-light and near-dark locations. With a top native ISO speed of 51200, the EOS-1D X MARK II can be expanded further still to ISO 409600 for shooting in very dark locations. And flexibility doesn’t stop there. Even in Auto ISO mode shutter speeds up to 1/8000sec are possible, as is exposure compensation in Manual mode.

Built-in GPS

EOS-1D X Mark II offers built in satellite connectivity for GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia) and Quasi-Zenith Satellite Michibiki (Japan) global positioning satellites for improved GPS accuracy and quick signal acquisition*. The camera will add Geotag information (longitude, latitude, elevation, plus Coordinated Universal Time) to the image metadata, a useful extra for agencies and photographers seeking to identify automatically when and where images were taken. The GPS system will also automatically set time on the camera’s clock based on data from the satellites while a logging function enables the user to track steps with the camera, which can be added to mapping systems. The GPS information can also be recorded in movies at the start of recording.
*Canon GP-E1 and GP-E2, third party Bluetooth enabled GPS devices are not compatible.

Be an Action Hero with high speed performance

Breaking the boundaries of high-speed shooting, the EOS-1D X Mark II can shoot up to 14 fps with full AF / AE tracking or up to 16 fps in Live View, thanks to the speed of DIGIC 6+ processors and the new mirror drive system. With the CFast 2.0™ media, the camera can deliver a continuous burst of up to 170 uncompressed 14-bit RAW images.

Immerse your audience with edge-of-your-seat definition

The power of 4K resolution brings your stories to life. Shoot internally on CFast 2.0™ (recommended) media in 4K (4096 x 2160) up to 60p or Full HD up to 120p for slow motion creativity. Focus easily and accurately with touch panel LCD and Dual Pixel CMOS AF, which provides amazing AF tracking in movies and Live View mode and works with all Canon EF lenses.

Maximise the shoot time. Minimise everything else.

SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and Gigabit connectivity via Ethernet or the WFT-E8 WiFi adapter brings superb workflow flexibility to any location while the built-in GPS can auto-update time whenever you change a time-zone by connecting to a global network of GPS satellites. The crop and resize functionality lets you send the frame as you want it to be seen, without the need for a PC.

High-Speed Connectivity

The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 terminal enables high-speed image transfer to a computer. EOS-1D X Mark II, like the EOS-1D X, also offers photographers the ability to transmit images over a network via a built-in Ethernet socket or via an optional WFT-E8 or WFT-E6 wireless transmitter.
