The month of giving.

Ramadan is all about the spirit – of kindness and generosity, of loving and caring, and of faith and belief. It’s a time for families and friends to come even closer and for one to be in tune with their inner self.

Another important aspect of this month is Charity. As the Prophet PBUH said, ‘Charity reduces nothing from one’s wealth.’

Getting with the spirit of this holy month, we will be donating AED 300,000 to three charity organisations this year this year. How can you be a part of it? Simple. A part of every purchase goes towards this AED 300,000. But you can select which charity you want your bit to go to.

Here’s a little bit about every charity organisation. So read on, and make your purchase count:

Al Noor Centre

Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs offers admission to children with all disabilities from 3 to 18 years of age. They run a holistic programme addressing all domains of development. The training aims to maximize each child’s potential with a view to integration into the mainstream society. Their team consists of a Special Educator, Speech and Language Therapist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker and the Parents.

Dar Al Ber

This organization takes up different projects across all sectors to benefit society. Their aim is to nurture the less fortunate in any and every way can and they have been doing so since the past 30 years. In the past they have organized iftars for children atop the Burj Khalifa, organized iftars in other countries for the underprivileged and printed Qurans in different languages. This year, they are celebrating Ramadan with rich programmes and activities worth Dh8 million under the theme ‘Take the chance’.

Emirates Association for the Blind

The EAB operates under the patronage of Sheikha Jamila Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS). They conduct courses on Braille and computers and organise social, cultural and entertainment activities for members. Recently, they participated in the launch of the first visually impaired friendly ATM in the region by Sharjah Islamic Bank.
