Use your voice to play a song, artist or genre through Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer and TuneIn. With compatible Echo devices in different rooms, you can fill your entire home with music as well as listen to Audible or radio stations.

Alexa is happy to help

Make your life easier at home. Use your voice to set timers, add items to lists and create calendar events and reminders. You can also check the news, weather or traffic. Ask for sports scores, film screening times or information.

Voice control your smart home

Manage compatible smart home devices using your voice. Switch on the lamp before getting out of bed, turn on the coffee machine on your way to the kitchen, or dim the lights from the sofa to watch a film.

Connect with your friends and family

Make hands-free calls to almost anyone including UK mobile and residential numbers (from UK only, emergency calling not supported), other Echo devices and the Alexa app. You can also link Alexa with your mobile phone account to ask Alexa to make and answer your mobile calls. Use Announcements to send voice messages to every room with an Echo device, or use Drop In as a two-way intercom between rooms.

With tens of thousands of skills and counting, Alexa is always getting smarter. Skills are like apps and help you do more, such as play relaxing sounds or test your music knowledge. Just say, “Alexa, what are your top skills?”

Designed to protect your privacy

Alexa and Echo devices are built with multiple layers of privacy protection. For example, Echo has a Microphone Off button that electronically disconnects the microphones. You also have control over your voice recordings. You can view, hear or delete them at any time.

Wi-Fi connectivity

Dual-band Wi-Fi supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz) networks. Does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks. WiFi 6 (802.11ax) is not currently supported.

Bluetooth connectivity

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) support for audio streaming from your mobile device to Echo or from Echo to your Bluetooth speaker. Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) for voice control of connected mobile devices. Hands-free voice control is not supported for Mac OS X devices. Bluetooth speakers requiring PIN codes are not supported.

Alexa app

The Alexa app is compatible with Fire OS, Android and iOS devices.  Certain skills and services are subject to change, may not be available in all areas and may require separate subscriptions or other fees.

The Alexa app and Alexa-enabled products include several features for customers with accessibility needs related to vision, hearing, mobility and speech.
