Canon Mirrorless Camera Body Black EOS R8 With LP-E17 Battery

Explore the Canon Mirrorless Camera Body EOS R8, built for versatile performance and creative flexibility. Its modern design and advanced features make it a reliable choice for photography and video projects across various environments.

MAKE THE LEAP TO FULL FRAME

Give your creativity a full-frame upgrade. Better bokeh, wider angles of view and image quality that will blow you away – even in low light.

Full-frame video too

The full-frame advantage also extends to video for spectacular cinematic results.

Intelligent autofocus

Stills or video: keep subjects in sharp focus as they move around the frame.

The full-frame advantage

Enjoy wider dynamic range, reduced digital noise and crystal-clear detail – that’s the EOS R8’s full-frame advantage

Shoot shallower

Perfect for powerful portraits. With a larger sensor comes shallower depth of field and more dynamic range. Make your subject stand out against a smooth, out-of-focus background with beautiful bokeh. Capture more details in highlights and shadows.

Shoot wider

Transform the way you see the landscape, and get up close for immersive documentary images.

“You can see how clean it all turned out.”– Alexandra Andreeva

Full-frame cameras, like the EOS R8, are great for capturing atmospheric images in low-light conditions.

FULL FRAME DEPTH OF FIELD

Compare the EOS R8’s background blur with that of an APS-C camera. Pin-sharp subjects are emphasised better against smooth, out-of-focus backgrounds.

FULL FRAME ANGLE OF VIEW

See how a 15mm lens looks on the full-frame EOS R8, compared with an EOS camera with a smaller APS-C sensor. Any given focal length gives a 1.6x wider angle of view.

FIND YOUR INNER FILMMAKER

By oversampling 6K sensor data, the EOS R8 produces high-quality 4K video footage at frame rates up to 60p.1 If you’re new to video, you’ll love how simple the camera makes it to get creative with different frame rates and resolutions. You’ll appreciate its advanced features as you become an accomplished filmmaker.

Professional colour grading

Use the EOS R8’s low-contrast Canon Log 3 colour profile for more options while colour grading. This footage preserves detail in bright highlights and dark shadows, thanks to its wide, dynamic range.

The nuances of slow motion

Add feeling and emotion to movement, shooting at up to 180p in Full HD.2 When viewed at normal playback speeds, this shows subjects in sumptuous slow motion – revealing hidden details of their movement.

False colour indicator

Gauge the perfect exposure. Six coloured overlays show the distribution of luminance in a scene.

Focus peaking

Master critical sharpness when focusing manually. In-focus areas are outlined with a distinctive (and customisable) colour.

Zebras

Striped overlays make it quick and simple to judge the correct exposure

Digital zoom

Change your view, even when shooting video with prime lenses, with up to 10x digital zoom.

BIG ON FEATURES SMALL IN SIZE

The EOS R8 is our lightest full-frame, mirrorless camera yet, weighing in at just 461g. Enjoy the full-frame advantage everywhere you shoot, from decisive moments on the streets to remote landscapes and adventures.

24.2 megapixel full-frame sensor

An ideal balance of detail, speed and low-light performance, whether you’re shooting photos or video.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

Recognises and tracks subjects, keeping them in sharp focus.

UHS-II SD card slot

Use widely available SD cards to store your content – including fast UHS-II cards for high-speed shooting.

GAME-CHANGING AUTOFOCUS

Inside the EOS R8 is our renowned Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system. It recognises and tracks different subjects and is accurate even in very low light – down to -6.5EV.

Intelligent AF that knows what you’re shooting

The EOS R8 has been programmed using a state-of-the-art machine-learning algorithm that lets it track moving subjects as they move about the frame.

Finds and tracks a multitude of subjects

PeopleFinds eyes, faces, heads and bodies.

Cats

Wild and tame, big and small.

Dogs

From dachshunds to dingos.

Horses

Including zebras.

Birds

Even those in flight.

Cars

Tracks drivers in open-top cars.

Motorbikes

On racetrack or road.

Amazing AF for both stills and video

No matter how you’re shooting, the EOS R8 tracks and follows moving subjects right to the edges of the frame. Even if the main subject is obscured for a moment, the camera anticipates its movement and reacquires focus as soon as it reappears.
