- Apple Watch Ultra 4 | Pre-Order the New Ultra
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 has the longest battery life of any Apple Watch: up to 50 hours of normal use, up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode, and up to 45 hours of Max Extended Workout tracking. That is enough to track a 100-mile race on a single charge.
The bigger change is on the underside. An all-new Health Sensing System pairs redesigned optical and electrical sensors with larger, more power-efficient green LEDs, working with the S11 chip. Apple says it delivers the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable, taking background heart rate readings every five seconds and HRV readings as often as every five minutes. Compared with Ultra 3, that is 60 times more frequent background heart rate readings and 24 times more frequent HRV readings.
The rest is what Ultra owners expect: a 49mm Grade 5 titanium case, a flat sapphire crystal display reaching 3000 nits, WR100 water resistance, IP6X dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H testing, and EN13319 certification for recreational scuba diving to 40 metres. Apple lists UAE availability from 18 September 2026, with pre-orders open now. Explore the full specifications and comparisons below.

Both watches use the S11 chip and share the same 49mm titanium case, 3000-nit display and durability ratings, so this is not a design or performance upgrade. What you are paying for is health sensing and endurance: a redesigned sensor system with far more frequent heart rate and HRV readings, the new readiness score, eight more hours of everyday battery, and workout tracking that now stretches to 45 hours. If you train for long events or want the deeper recovery data, that is a real gain. If you bought an Ultra 3 for the ruggedness and battery and are happy with it, there is less reason to move. Anyone on an Ultra 1 or Ultra 2 gets a much larger jump, including up to 14 more hours of battery than the original Ultra.

The two watches share the same chip and the same core health features, so the choice comes down to build and endurance rather than intelligence. The Series 12 is lighter, comes in smaller sizes and more materials, and costs less. The Ultra 4 gives you double the battery life, a brighter display, a titanium case rated for scuba diving to 40 metres, and the Action button. If you spend most of your week in the gym or the office, the Series 12 covers it. If you train for endurance events, dive, or spend long days outdoors away from a charger, the Ultra 4 earns the difference.
What are the biggest new features of the Apple Watch Ultra 4?
The all-new Health Sensing System, which Apple says delivers the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable, the new readiness score, and the longest battery life of any Apple Watch at up to 50 hours of normal use and up to 45 hours of Max Extended Workout tracking.
How long does the Apple Watch Ultra 4 battery last?
Up to 50 hours of normal use and up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode. For workouts, it delivers up to 18 hours of standard tracking, up to 25 hours in Extended Workout and up to 45 hours in Max Extended Workout. A 15-minute charge gives up to 18 hours of normal use.
Which chip does the Apple Watch Ultra 4 use?
The S11 chip, with a 64-bit dual-core processor, a 4-core Neural Engine and 64GB of capacity. The Apple Watch Series 12 uses the same S11 chip.
Is the Apple Watch Ultra 4 thinner than the Ultra 3?
No. Both are 49 x 44 x 12 mm. The Ultra 4 is very slightly heavier at 63.0 grams for the natural titanium finish, compared with 61.6 grams for the Ultra 3. The upgrade is in the sensors and battery rather than the case.
Does the Apple Watch Ultra 4 have Siri AI?
Yes. The Ultra 4 runs watchOS 27 with Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. Siri AI is available in beta, requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled setup and a supported language, and is available in English to start. Some features may not be available in all regions.
How accurate is the heart rate tracking?
Apple states the Ultra 4 has the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable, based on a study it conducted in July and August 2026 against best-selling wearables available as of June 2026. It takes background heart rate readings every five seconds and HRV readings as often as every five minutes, which is 60x and 24x more frequent than the Ultra 3.
Can you scuba dive with the Apple Watch Ultra 4?
Yes, to 40 metres. It is rated WR100 under ISO 22810:2010 and EN13319 certified for recreational scuba diving to 40 metres with ±1m depth accuracy. You need a compatible dive app such as Oceanic+ from the App Store, which requires a subscription. It should not be used below 40 metres, and Apple notes that water resistance is not permanent and can diminish over time.
What is the difference between the Ultra 4 and the Series 12?
Both use the S11 chip and share the same health features. The Ultra 4 has a larger 49mm titanium case, a brighter 3000-nit display, roughly double the battery life, a customisable Action button, and scuba diving to 40 metres. The Series 12 is lighter, comes in 42mm and 46mm, offers more case materials, and costs less.
Which iPhone do I need for the Apple Watch Ultra 4?
An iPhone 11 or later, including the iPhone SE 2nd generation or later, running iOS 27 or later.
When is the Apple Watch Ultra 4 available in the UAE?
Apple lists availability from 18 September 2026, with pre-orders open now.
