The XTAR VC4 charger is a combination of XP4C and VC2 chargers. This intelligent charger can recognize, charge, and display charging current, battery voltage, and charge capacity of both Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries at the same time. This is a USB powered charger so it can be plugged into any of your existing AC USB wall adapter plugs (e.g. Apple, Samsung, etc.)

The charger makes an estimate of how much the battery has taken in mAh, this is what it has put in the battery and does not account for anything that was already in there, it also does not know how the battery will react on discharge, while this charger give some information that is to some degree useful, it is not giving you a absolute true reading of battery capacity. The only way to do this is by applying a load on the battery at a constant current and monitoring as it discharges.
